Pocket Monsters

This a project i've been working on over the last few months. I've always loved Pokemon, since the original Red and Blue on the gameboy. But as I grew up and my tastes changed I drifted away from the series. It didn't grow up with me. This year is the 20th anniversary of the original Pokemon games. I was looking for a redesign project to sharpen my Illustrator skills on and I had this idea. What if they did grow up? What if they had become actual monsters? Dark and terrifying monsters from our childhood stories. Creatures of myth. I took inspiration from ukiyo-e style art and let my imagination delve back into the world of Pokemon.
